Rules:
1. Competition is open to current youth members of the American Miniature Horse Association, and 4-H/FFA organizations. Competitors must be members on file and in good standing with their respective organizations.

2. The contest will be divided into two groups: AMHA and 4-H/FFA. Groups are open to team and individual entries.

3. Each group will consist of a Senior and a Junior Division. Senior Division Members are those youth ages 13 thru 17 Years. Junior Division Members are those youth ages 12 Years and Under. For this contest youth ages will be based on individual's age as of 1/1/02.

4. This will be a "placings only" contest for the Junior Division. Senior Division competitors will be asked to give oral reasons for their placings in one halter and one performance class.

5. Classes will be judged in accordance with the 2002 AMHA Official Rule Book.

6. Six to eight classes will be judged. Classes to be judged include three or four halter and three or four performance.

7. Time allowed: 15 minutes will be allowed for contestants to place horses.

8. Officials will be provided for the judging of horses in order to tabulate scores.

9. All horses will be considered sound and all tack will be considered legal.

10. There will be no talking allowed once the contest starts. Any questions shall be directed only to the group leader, an individual in charge of contestants as they judge, to see that the animals are properly moved, and to answer questions not relating to the placing of horses. The group leader and judging contest staff have the right to pull any individual's Judging Cards if found to be cheating or talking.

11. Placing Cards will be turned in to group leader, upon completion of each class. Failure to turn in a marked card will result in a "0" for that class. No exceptions.

13. Awards will be presented, following the completion of tabulation, on Friday, September 27 at the Celebration of the States Welcome Reception.

14. Dress Code: Suitably attired to appear before an audience (no shorts/sandals).

15. Entry Deadline: August 30, 2002. No late entries can be accepted.
